Bikash Shrot Kendra (BSK) has highly efficient research team with very strong logistic and coordination support system. Each team member has very strong academic background with extensive professional experience in International Universities, International Development Organizations and UN Agencies including well familiarity with the government line agencies.

Our technical team comprised with Medical Doctors, Public Health Experts, Education Specialist, Water and Sanitation Hygiene Engineers, Disaster Risk Management and Humanitarian Experts, Livelihood Specialist, Statisticians and Gender and Social Inclusion experts. Each of our team members is creative having significant contribution in Nepal and aboard.

We have an efficient and proactive logistic support system, which enables us to perform our service effectively and with high quality outputs. Our team performs under Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) along with emergency contingency plan, which facilitates us for quality process and product.

BSK has pool of trained field researchers and enumerators. They speak local languages and represent cross-section of culture and languages of Nepal. We have maintained roster of diversified members who provide their service in need.

  • Dr. Bhimsen Devkota

    Dr. Bhimsen Devkota

    Dr. Devkota had his PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK, in July 2010 and a Master’s Degree in Health Education from Tribhuvan University of Nepal. Dr. Devkota’s expertise focuses on health services
    and health promotion research. In addition to teaching health education and promotion research to
    MPhil and Ph.D. students, which includes significant content on IEC, BCC, and SBC, including
    social marketing, Dr. Devkota is extensively involved in consulting work, most of which covers
    behavior change communication research, formative research, endline and impact evaluation,
    communication strategy development, and creative materials development. He is confident in
    using various social and behavior change models. He is equally involved in leading BCC research at
    the policy and implementation levels on WASH, COVID-19, Safe Motherhood, school nutrition,
    menstrual hygiene, harmful practices such as early and forced child marriages and many other
    public health, social and education-related issues. He is well known for preparing policy briefs as
    well for different organizations. He has worked with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education,
    and Ministry of Water Supply and Ministry of Education, Science & Technology to carry out
    national-level research, evaluation studies, and policy documents. He has led several quantitative,
    qualitative and mixed-method studies and published original articles in peer-reviewed journals. He
    is confident in using Excel and SPSS software and is proficient in NVivo. In addition to interviews,
    key informant interviews, focused group discussions, and observations, he demonstrated experience
    in using human-centered design, participatory action research (PAR), and focused ethnographic
    study.
    Dr Devkota has worked as an independent consultant for several national, regional, and
    international organizations. I have extensive experience working with DFID, USAID, EU, The
    World Bank, UNDP, UNFPA, WFP, UNICEF, WHO, WWF, MRDF UK, Karuna Trust, Room to
    Read, Save the Children, Mercy Corps, FH Designs Australia, Plan International, Water Aid, Un
    Habitat, WHH, CRS, etc. He has worked with all three tiers of government in Nepal and is good at
    coordinating and liaising with them. He has successfully led a 7-year-long Rupantaran project
    implemented by Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, and Norwegian University of Life
    Sciences, Norway, funded by NORAD/NORHED. He has secured several funding as a team
    member. Currently, he is collaborating with Canterbury Christ Church University, UK, for a WHO-
    sponsored infertility study in South and South East Asia, Manchester University for a study on the
    attack on health care, and Pittsburg University, USA, for a five-year intervention on menstrual
    hygiene(Chhaupadi), named as SAMIP.

  • Dhruba Devkota

    Dhruba Devkota

    Mr. Devkota is senior level professional having extensive experience in development sector especially in disaster risk reduction/climate resilience and humanitarian actions in Nepal. He has proven ability for managing disaster recovery and reconstruction project in Nepal and aboard. He has demonstrated high level performance in policy and advocacy support to government of Nepal in DRR/CCA. Further he has conducted couple of evaluation in different fields including DRR and Climate resilience.

  • Mr. Luma Nath Adhikari

    Mr. Luma Nath Adhikari

    Luma Nath Adhikari, specialized in Agriculture Extension,  has strong technical expertise and experiences on Livelihoods (agriculture, food and nutrition security, enterprise development Climate Change Adaptation and Watershed Management). He has significant contribution to improve the livelihood resilience of  the poor people in Nepal. He led comprehensive livelihoods programme over thirty years and was affiliated with Save the Children International (2010- 2017), United Mission to Nepal (1984-2009) and HELVETAS (2017- 2018). He was Technical Director of ‘Sabal (2014-2019)’ a USAID funded Project and Team Leader of Nepal Agriculture Service Development Programme funded by Swiss Development Cooperation.

    Amita Pradhan, PhD in Statistics, has extensive experiences in data analysis in SPSS and NVivo software. She has experience of critical interpretation and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data. She contributes in data coding, editing and analysis.

  • Dr. Sharada Prasad Wasti

    Dr. Sharada Prasad Wasti

    Dr. Sharada Prasad Wasti holds a Master’s degrees in Health Care Management and in Population Studies from Nepal and an MSc in International Health from the University of Aberdeen. He completed PhD in Public Health from the University of Sheffield, UK. Dr. Wasti has worked in the field of health care and public health research and M & E for over a decade in Nepal particularly on areas of  HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health including family planning, fertility awareness, WASH, health system and policy, GBV, social norms and migration. He has published more than 20 peer review papers as a lead and co-author in the field of global health issues. Dr. Wasti  has been involved in a number of evaluation projects undertaken by BSK Nepal.

    Mr. Sabin Shrestha is a competitive and determined professional with extensive experiences; offering expertise in the process improvement, planning, monitoring, strategic information, SBCC, behavioral analysis and forecasting. Moreover, he has professional competencies on research, developing guidelines & reports, use of Data Quality Assessment (DQA) tools, Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) tool, Operational mapping, Social/Mobility mapping, Coverage Mapping, & Referral mapping. Furthermore, he has extensive experience on child rights/protection, education on adolescent and youth groups.

    Nikita Sharma

    Nikita, with an MPH degree, is a dedicated and highly skilled Research Coordinator at Bikas Shrot Kendra. She brings extensive experience in coordinating research projects, especially in collaboration with international teams, such as those from the University of Pittsburgh. Nikita has played a pivotal role in facilitating research on Chhaupadi practices in Nepal. Her expertise includes organizing workshops, liaising with key organizations, conducting field visits, and managing data collection processes. Her leadership ensures smooth project execution, and her commitment to impactful, community-based research is evident in every task she undertakes.
